It is my honor and privilege to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Sanaa Harris. As her Guidance Counselor, I have had a unique insight into the person she has become. She grew into a confident and driven self-starter who is a leader amongst her peers.
I’ve never met a student who displays as much integrity and class as Sanaa. I believe wholeheartedly that she will be an excellent representative of your organization. I enthusiastically recommend Sanaa Harris for this award.

Felecia JohnsonAtlantic City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.Cydnee Phoenix

Advocating for the homeless is a childhood commitment. My mother and I slept in her car and shelters operated by Mother Theresa.

At Stockton, I dedicated my studies to the homeless. My advocacy broadens from the Atlantic City Rescue Mission to the Women’s Shelter. While working with the homeless at Covenant House, Social Work became easy. The lessons, Father Steve, reminded us that the paradigm must turn. We were no better than clients. After graduating from Rutgers University with a Masters in Social Work, and becoming a NJ licensed School Social Worker, I enjoyed teaching students Social Work at Camden Community College. I learned that no one wants your pity but resources. Implementing Social Work and education expanded from Pleasantville Schools to Islamic Schools. I earned an EdS in Special Education from North Central University.

A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated since 1990, it was my opportunity to advocate for the homeless. As former Chairperson of Social Action-Atlantic City Alumnae Chapter, we donated over six hundred apparel items to the Whitesboro, NAACP, hospitals, and shelters. I have taken another mission to work with the masjid in Pleasantville to serve the homeless. It is a lifetime commitment to serve the homeless.
